Valentines message in a bottle

Hello! I'm back with my second valentines project. It's always nice to leave a note on valentines day to the ones you love and why don't replace a card with one or more messages in a bottle. You can leave them in different corners of your house for an unexpected surprise.
Grab an empty glass bottle. Any sort of bottle will do. The funny part of course is the decoration: I decided to dress them in bottles with love potion. And here's a tip: before decorating them apply clear crackle paint on the bottles for an extra vintage and prescious look. At last just put the rolled love letters inside and you are ready for Valentines day :-)

Heart balloon magnet

Hello everyone! How are you? I hope you are doing ok.
Now that the holidays are over we can look forward to the next ones :-) So, here is a little project already waiting for Valentines day: a heart balloon magnet. I recycled a plastic candy container. I have a box full of different containers in my scrapbook room that are waiting for a new and fresh dress. So, I painted the little heart to get a crackle but shiny effect. I simulated the floting ribbon with a twisted wire and added some delicate embellishments and a tag with a stamped message. This is the first idea to surprise who you love - a lovely magnet!

First Tattered Angels post

Today is a special day because I posted my first post for Tattered Angels!!!! It's a special occassion and it's time to share with you what were my ideas for the Tattered Angels DT. I wanted my projects to represent me and the accent was to find the extraordinary in the ordinary things. I just love to search the potencial of things thhat were mean to be forgotten.

Here is my first project: It is an altered globe. I covered the entire globe with glue and bandages and sprayed it with a huge ammount of white Chalkboard (Chalk) and let it dry. I’ve cut out the continents and than misted the world mask with the Glimmer Mist (Sand, Crushed shells). I completed the globe with a wire that goes arround the globe which I’ve paited with Glimmer Glam (Chandelier). The globe is adorned with Tattered angels Glimmer Chips.

The second project is Tattered angels jewelery – a ring made out of resin with Glimmer mist inclusions ( Tiger Lily, Fully purple ) . A home project that really seems a gem.

The third project is an Altered Glimmer Mist bottle. This is one of my favorite project. It’s an empty bottle of glimmer mist transformed into a fasion mannequin. For this projects I used Chalkboard (Apricot Nectar) and Glimmer glam (Hayride) for covering the body, Glimmer mist (Deep Plum) for the skirt and Glimmer Chips for the wings. I’ve also cut out the Tattered angels logo and glued it on the mannequin. I think it’s a must have for every glimmer mist fan!

Smile, without a reason why...

Here is my new LO. I love this picture of Kian. It's just like I want to see him every day, just smiling, without a reason why.... Nothing is better than this.
I wanted this picture to be sourrounded with light colors to keep it in focus and some delicate embellishments like the Tattered angels Glimmer chips, Tim Holtz grungeboard and other pieces. I teared the paper to make comfort places for the pic and for the title. The edges of the teared paper are treated with water and soaked in Glimmer mist.

Birthday Tag

What do you think about making a Birthday tag instead of a classic birthday card? I love it and instead of having a card in an envelope you can adorn the gift with a tag and there is a lot of space at the back to write a happy birthday wish.

It's been a long time from my last LO and I already missed making them. This LO was just waiting to be done and it was done in a surprisingly short time. The base paper was quite girly so I tried to make it more boyish with adding some metal inserts and wire swirls.

I feel very inspired and I have already some projects in my mind for the next weeks.... Have a great time and don't forget to come back ;-)

Recycled ribbon rolls tree

I knew I would find an idea of how to use my empty ribbon rolls. They were in a box for a long time but finally they are well dressed for holidays. This recycled ribbon rolls tree is a simple idea but when you add some patterned paper, some holiday wishes and some rough crystals it gets a lot of personality and dimension.

I think this one enters in the top ten of my favorite trees. I hope you like it too :-)

Paper cup christmas tree tutorial

Here we go: as promised I'm doing the Paper cup christmas tree tutorila. It's simple , all you have to do is to follow some tips.

You will need:
10 paper cups

Glue gun

Liquid glue

Glitter

Scissors

Step 1: For this tutorial I bought just some Hello Kitty paper cups that I painted but I prefer IKEA paper cups that I acctually also used for my firs tree and I find them more beatiful and even easier to manage with. They have really some great colors and they are cheap too. First of all cut the cup and the bottom of the cup.

Step 2: You will need 5 cups + a piece (7 - 8 cm) of the sixth cup like shown in the picture.

Step 3: Make a cone out of the cutted cup and glue it together with the glue gun.

Step 4: Do the same with the other 4 cups but making each cone bigger. You can use the hole at the top as a guide: every next cone is bigger by making a bigger hole on the top.

Step 5: Cut the white edge of the rest of the cups.

Step 6: With the hot glue apply the white edge on the cutted parts of the cup cutting them to fit the sides. This is an important step because it's here where your tree loses the look of the cups and becomes something special. Don't forget to modelate the white edges with pulling them in the hands to get them more straight. Do this step with all 5 cups. The only piece you don't need to cover with the white edge is the top hole.

Step7: Take one of the paper cups without the edge and fill it with somethig to make it stable. I used lentils here but you can also use rice or small rocks. Don't forget to close the cup with a piece of cutted cups. Glue it upsidedown. This is the trunk of the tree.

Step 8: Put the piece of the 6th cup under the widest cone to cover the side of it and cut the little triangle that it's facing out of the bottom of the tree and glue it on the trunk of the tree.

Step 9: Compose the tree by rotating the cones from the widest to the most pointed. Here you can really express your taste.
Step 10: Apply the liquid glue on all the white edges and sprinkle it with glitter to cover unprecisions and...... start decorating the tree!!!

Altered cuckoo clock

I'm posting another christmas project. This time is a cuckoo clock that my mother wanted to be christmas themed and what is easier than having the idea already there. All you have to do is to follow the inspiration and enjoy in the altering. I added some snowflackes because my mom just loves snow and so this project perfectla fits her style.

Paper cup christmas tree

It's paper christmas time! I was thinnking about a new version of the paper tree because I have to make one this time of the year. I knew the idea was arround the corner and then I saw ....paper cups!!!! I started to search the shape of a christmas tree in them and this is the result. I love it because it has a clean design but you can add some warm details with the extra decorations. There are just some small tricks to follow and you can make your own paper cup christmas tree.... Intrestead?

I'll also submit this project for this week Color room palette. You can also check it for some inspiration.

There is still time to make some new christmas decoration...... I'm going to dig some extra ideas :-)

Christmas can card

Hello! How are you? Do you also have all your home covered with glitter and tiny red balls? I do and I'm sure there some hovering waiting for me after sharing my christmas card 2011. I decided I wanted to do something else instead regular paper and like I've told you I found the can extremly inspiring. This one is a simple project but with a guaranteed effect. All you have to do is to paint an empty can. Take a paper and cut it to fit into the can and distress it using a regal Tattered angels glimmer screen. Complete using christmas stamps and embellishments. Tip: put some pieces of foam behind the glittered letters to make them pop out - it really makes the difference! Insert the key into the can top roll.

There's also a lot of space at the back of the can to write great christmas wishes. I hope you like the idea of my christmas can-cards. Have fun making your own cards and enjoy this great time.

Christmas ball #4 and Tattered Angels Color Connection

Hello! Here I am and I want to share another christmas ball with you. This one is a little bit more wintry with its blue shades. I love winter time that goes hand in hand with christmas and creates the perfect atmosphere.

I created a little christmas tree out of small gears from old broken clocks. The little christmas tree is standing on a glittery hill and has a star going arround it. The bottom part of the ball is covered with patterened paper on the inside and of course the gouze covering on the outside (I just can't help using this technique with my balls :-) ) I used also a Pinkpaislee adornment that I transformed it from a hokus pokus style to a winter themed tag. There is a Tattered angels leave chip that I covered with some Glimmer glaze and also with transparent crackle paint and a grungeboard snowflacke. Having all the ball in winte colors there was necessary to put a touch of red - a red and white string.

Christmas ball #3

Hello everyone! Finally I'm back!!! What happened? Well I had to take my PC to the computer hospital because one day just nothing happened after switching on the power button. I don't know what is happening because few days before the computer breakdown my dishewasher and washing machine refused to work!?!?!?!
Anyway I'm back and I'm posting my new christmas ball #3. I think making them in this period became part of my christmas tradition. This time I misted the top of the ball and some small Prima roses with red Glimmer mist and add also some pastel Prima flowers, velvet leaves and showered the ball with some tiny crystals. The base of the ball is also traditionally made using glue, gauze and white paint.

I hope my computer will work at least for some days to make some other post of my christmas creations 2011. Keep your fingers crossed :-) and have a wonderful time!!!!

Altered christmas can

Hello everyone! How are you. Well, the contdown for christmas has officially begun and I'm right into the christmas inspiration that it is my very favorite as you know. In addition this year I'm creating some new pieces because I'll have an exhibition of my Christmas projects in December!! I'll promise I'll share some pics when the exhibition will be set and everything will be ready. Meanwhile you'll see my projects in advance on my blog and here is my first one: an altered can full of christmas spirit :-)

It's a small project but very nice and there's another similar idea is already dancing in my mind :-)

Recycled ghost

Hello! How are you? This time I decided to do some recycling. In fact several times I find myself admiring some intresting shapes that plastic container have nowdays and sometimes it's a shame they finish in tha garbage without dressing them in something appropriate for their shape. So, I turned this.......

Into this....

I didn't use the lid and I've glued a plastic egg on the opening. Than I covered everything with bandage fabbric. The procedure was a little bit long because I have to wait the fabbric to dry but I wanted it airy but rigid and this is possible only by covering this thin fabbric with some glue mixed to acrylic paint. It looks wavy but it's solid. I've made a hole in it where I've put a nice verse I alrady had. It's like a bizzare entrance in another dimension. All the rest is just a game of embellishments and colors.

Halloween calderon

Hello bloggers! Here I am with another project. This one is perfect for you children as my son is just crazy about it and keeps playing with it. It's a magic calderon! It easy and quick to do too!

I had this little pot that is similar to a calderon. I've filled it with some paper and I painted the surface with acid green acrylic paint and used the same color for painting many little styrofoam balls. I placed the balls on the top of the calderon with the glue gun and than covered everything with some glossy paint to simulate the boiling of the potion. I also covered the stars with glitter and put them into the bubbles to make the word poof! more intresting.

Halloween lamp

Hello friends! How are you? I hope you are fine and I hope you'll like my new project. It was a quick one because this old kerosene lamp already has so much charachter that I didn't want to overflow. This piece was part of our family for a long time but one day we (I don't even remember who) broke the glass chimney and now it was waiting for a chance for a new look. As you see the project is simple. I started with painting the frame at the back with black distress paint and I've put some glass color on the glass. I wiped away most of the color so only some little holes are filled with black color to make it look even more antique. I've put some glittery stars on a wire that simulate a magic explosion out of the burner. I just covered the glass on the back with regular stamped paper and added some ribbon - so easy but I like it.

I'm already thinking about another halloween project. And you?

Hello everone! Here is my latest project to say Thank you to a special person. I had the idea to make something that symbolizes a neverending gratitude and this tape dispenser seems to me that represents it the best. I've covered the tape dispencer with some book pages and painted with Distress cracke paint and softened the edges with some Distress ink. I've made a long "Thanks a bunch" tape using just regular paper, Prima stamps and SRM stickers. I love the idea that there are several Thank you-s to remind someone how much I appriciate the gesture. A wire hols the word "million" and a Prima Trinket hangs from it. The little bird was covered with some acrylic paint and sprinkled with embossing powder and let dry without heating.

Halloween pumpkin

Hello everyone! How are you? I hope fine. I'm ok except I'm polka dot patterned these days :-) I have an allergy and I have no idea what was the cause and it's the first time for me. I'm a little bit sleepy because of the pills I'm taking but I just wanted to make something. Inspired by the first fresh and colder brezzes I immidiatly thought about pumpkins, falling leaves, harvest...... HALLOWEEN! And here it is : a surprise pumpkin. I had the idea to mke it out of bandages when Kian asked me if he can be a mummy for Halloween and I considered that the two things are related somehow. The colors I decided to use are acid green and intense purple and soft orange. I just adore that combo and I decided to use them also for my home decor this year so you can expect my next halloween creations in this palette.
You already probably know I love to make a surprise effect and I've made the pumpkin that splits in half and inside there is a small message and some place for some candy in a way the kids will have to open it to grab the sweets.

Can't take my mind off you

Yesterday was an important day: my hubsband and I had the 15th anniversary spending time together. Yes because we don't really celebrate our wedding annivesary but we prefer to remember the day we started our adenture. So what we've got? Some experience, bad and good harvests, a little big dream come true, unexpected changes, a few wrinkles, almost perfect knowledge of each other, chasing goals and neverending long conversations and after all this..... I still can't take my mind off you....

I wanted this LO to remember a magic place in the woods, peacefull but still very intresting for spending time and searching for something new, like our relationship. I used a lot of artificial moss for the bed of the photo. Some gentle pastel flowers to put an accent and to make it more romantic and fairy and vines that intertwine the title.

I love the different result of this LO. I hope you like it and there's just another pic.... A long time ago......

Fun with friends

I restarted to invent LOs with colors that I wouldn't pick without the proposal The color room. Nice and warm colors were perfect for making a LO that catches the sunny day that Kian enjoyed with his friends. I had so much fun sitting on the swing with 5 boys and making photos going up and down :-)
What I especially like on this LO is a pinch of artificial moss that gives to the page a great "playgroundy" look and just perfect for boy-pages.

This is my quick post and enjoy the last summer days.... That's an order :-)!!!!! I have to enjoy them too so I'll put down more lines when the weather gets worse :-)

Altered candy machine

Long time no see....... I was away from my blog for a long long time but this summer was full of enjoyable projects, nice migrations and relaxing hours chatting, playing, meeting special persons. Sometimes we just need a break to fill our batteries full again and I think it is time to restart enjoying paper and I HAVE to restart visit all the marvelous places on the net that I used to. Sorry for my absence.....
This time I altered a candy machine. This is meant for a gift, for a special, sweet person and the candy machine is the appropriate idea, don't you think? I paited athe machine with white crackle paint. I used some fake ice cubes on the bottom of the bowl and covered them with Prima flowers. The word "sweet" is mounted on a stripe of acetate and everything is finished with Prima vines and trinkets.
I love the idea as it gives immidiatly the feeling of the sweetness... of the soul.

New baby girl surprise sphere

It's spheretime again and you know I enjoy making my surprise globes. This time I made it for a newborn baby girl. I love to make the sphere's outside surface look like canvas and for this occassion this techinque was even more suitable as it reminds of old school diapers. A shower of crystals on the other hand makes it more prescious and girl - just indispensable:-) A lot of Prima flowers and a Prima trinket on the top and a Melissa Frances resin applique for the special little princess. A shiny and glittery "welcome" invites us to open the sphere.

The inside of the sphere revels the hatched name of the baby girl – a symbolic birth.

Pirate's gift wrapping

I love to wrap gifts and I always want it to be as good as the surprise in it. This time the gift was for a little boy. I stamped a regular package paper. I took an empty bottle of glimmer mist and trasformed it in a distressed pirate bottle with a message inside (my son made a beatiful drawing for him). I glued some sea shells and some sand. I added also two prescious pirate's coins.

I hope you liked the idea and maybe you'll feel inspired when you'll make your next gift wrapping ! Ahoy scrappers!!!

My favorite piece of art is...you

These are my favorite things has a new queastion: Do you have a favorite piece of art? I thought about what always amazes me and gives me goose bumps and is a pure expression of different kind of arts and I had no doubts :-)

Speaking of art I had to use my empty tube of color and a paintbrush and a lot of messy color spots. As I wanted the out squeezed paste to remain as fresh I waited it to dry and then put some glossy varnish on it. I used the Tattered angles screen and covered it with a lot of paint to obtain a havy frame structure.

Hello everyone! Here I am to make my little tutorial for the bubbly background that I used in my LO "Looking 4 adventure". First of all I have to say that is so so simple you will not belive it and beside this you'll also have fun doing it, I promise you!

You will need:

- a small pot

- dishwashing detergent

- a straw

- water

- food coloring

- paper

Step 1: In the little pot combine a little of water, a teaspoon of dishwashing detergent and food coloring.

Step 2: With a straw blow into the liquid untill you form a pile of bubbles .

Step 3: Place your paper on the the bubbles poping them until you reach the edge. You have to be a little bit fast here because the coloring tends to slip of the bubbles into the liquid. Let it dry!

..... and here you are!!! You have an amazing bubbly background. I love it and you can do it in many colors! Isn't this funny simple?

I remembered a lovely idea to make a bubblybackground and that was the start for assembling a new LO. I love watching ma son's enthusiasm in searching for tiny things that are like treasure for him and even exploring an old trailer can be a marvelous adventure.
A lot of out poping elements in this LO but surely the most out standing are the little stars that I just made by myself. I love them and they are a perfect boy LO flower replacement.

Altered paper cup gift container

I love paper cups and I love walking arround with a cup of coffee and enjoying the world. I was always affascinated of this potential garbage and I always had in my mind that it's a pity they finish in the garbage basket. So, this is the reason that sprinkled me with some inspiration for a gift container and this one is especially suitable for a coffee lover :-)

The painted lid is used as a tray for the tiny paper cake I made using just simple paper embossed with Prima stamps and adorned with Prima flowers and pearls. The cup is covered with crackle paint with some additiona paterned paper, Prima flowers and trinkets, some lace and ribbon and a SRM sticker for an introducing to the gift.

I will surely make some others cups like this and use them as gift boxes.

My favorite are the photo booth photos. I have to have a photo done almost every time I see one of those machines and I love to have fun squeezing in it :-) Also Kian is aready a fan of it and immidiatly points his finger at it as soon as he see it.

You love chalk

Not finished with chalk :-) In fact I made some pics that I love and I have to say that I especially love the one that I used in this LO because those tiny beatiful hands made a chalk heart appear - can you see it? And that makes the pic also part of the title.
The base is canvas and the corners are adorned with Prima recycled flower base. The gears are painted and I used also some selfmade resin hemisphere to make some elements more dimensional and some real chalks at the bottom of the page.

The inspiration of the colors were guided by The Color room palette #56.

For this occassion I created a Ladybug gift container for newborns. At the same time this project is also a card because there's some available place on the bottom of the ladybug for a message.

The ladybug was created for Giorgio and the inside gift was a little hand knitted baby hat that my mom made. I think handmade gifts are just the best for babies.

I love to watch my son when he is playing and enjoying life without caring of any supestructures that adults do. He enjoys life and he's not concerned about time. Melissa Frances recipe exchange

I decided to make a contribution to the Melissa Frances recipe exchange and I wanted a Slovenian dessert to be present with all others delicious recipes in this nice spring event.

Prekmurska gibanica:

For the strudel dough: 300 g flour 3 tablespoons lukewarm water 2 tablespoons wine 1 tablespoon sugar. salt to taste 2 tablespoons oil 2 tablespoons melted butter for brushing dough (You can also substitute store-bought filo pastry or strudel dough.) For the fillings: The poppyseed filling: 400 g poppy seeds, ground with a mortar and pestle or very briefly whizzed in a food processor with the steel blade 200 g sugar cinnamon to taste 1 cup hot milk The apple filling: 500 g apples, grated 200 g sugar cinnamon to taste 1 lemon rind, grated 1 tablespoon lemon juice cottage cheese filling: 500 g cottage cheese 3 dl (deciliters) sour cream: about 1 1/2 US cups 1 egg 200 g sugar 2 tablespoons raisins, soaked in rum vanilla to taste The walnut filling: 500 g ground walnuts 200 g sugar cinnamon to taste Optional topping: 1 cup sour cream Separately for each filling, mix the ingredients well. Grease well (butter is best) a square or oblong ovenproof baking dish or pan. For the strudel dough: Mix the ingredients in a bowl, knead thoroughly (ten minutes at least) and let stand to relax for one hour. Then roll out and cut into thin sheets the size of the baking container. (Alternately, purchase large sheets of strudel dough or filo pastry to suit your baking dish.) Place a layer of strudel dough / filo pastry in the bottom of the baked dish. Brush lightly with melted butter. Spread half the poppy seed filling evenly over it. Cover this layer with another sheet of strudel dough and brush the dough with melted butter. Spread this layer with half the apple filling. Cover with another sheet of dough: brush with melted butter. Spread with half the cottage cheese filling: cover with a sheet of dough, brushing with melted butter. Spread with half the walnut filling: cover with dough and brush dough with melted butter. Repeat this process with the remaining poppyseed filling, apple filling, cottage cheese filling and walnut filling, making sure to brush each layer of strudel dough with the melted butter as you proceed. Top with a final layer of strudel dough: brush with melted butter. If you like, spread this last layer with 1 cup sour cream (thinned a little with milk, if necessary, to make it easier to spread). Bake for about 1 hour in a medium oven (350F / 175C). Cut into squares and serve.

Hatched Easter wishes

I've already told you how easy is for me to make some projects expecting any kind of holiday because the ideas just pop into my mind and having already the symbols to include into the projects seems just so simple to me. ....and eggsshells are so nice and versatile to use and decorate, don't you think?

In this project I used real eggshels that I've painted in pastel colors. The bottom shells are filled with moulding compound. I've put a wire inside before getting hard in the way it could support the upper half of the eggshell. Pretty simple with a great effect.... Some flowers, a bow, some hay and ..... Voila!!! ....the easter wishes are hatched!!

I thing some more easter projects are already waiting in my mind to be realised :-)

I'm taking part of the current challenge on Scrap the boys. I love this blog as I have a boy and I find great inspo for boy LOs in this place. I'm always trying to find new stuff to make my boy dedicated pages more attractive and dimensional. This month challenge is to capture a moment in your day that you want to remember, part of your daily routine or a specific day or moment that you want to remember.You then need to use that time/date as your layout title. I picked some photos from a lovely day when Kian and dad were playing with a lollypop. It was one of the most beatiful moments. It was the 2nd of October 2010.

Welcome spring

Spring offers us a lot of inspiration. The blooming, the colors, the tiny animals flying arround again. When they reapear I feel how much I missed them and enjoy the warm sun.

The last idea is a waking up of a spring flower: from a bud to a marvelous (Prima) rose. They grow from eggshells that preannounce Easter time. I just kept some eggshells and fix the wire in the middle and put some hay in them. The base is just a box covered with pattern paper and extra embellishment (Tattered angels, Prima, Theresa Collins)

Birthday wish

First day of spring and last hours of my birthday. It was a wonderful day. It started with baloons in the kitchen and living room and colorful candles on a yummy lemon cake. After a quick blow and many sweet kisses from my boys my hubby surprised me taking me out for a romantic breakfast. The day was a perfect dropping of great and marvelous surprises: my house filled with the ones I love, handmade presents, fragrant flowers, fulfilleed whishes, good food and important, unforgetable words written on paper or on my screen.

A birthday always brings my mind to consider what are my true wishes... This year I realized that I don't want one of my wishes to come true but I want my already fulfilled and most important wish to persist in time. And this LO is a gift I made myself to me.... Happy birthday Jana, may your journey give you the possibility to become wiser and may your eyes see the happiness in the ones you love!

New baby card

I decided to make a card for a newborn baby but at the same time I often want my cards to be a tiny gift at the same time. So I make it using two pieces of chipboard covered with pattern paper to make it stable as a standing ornament or a hanger for the baby's room. Besides this I used the internal part of the card for the baby's birth information and used the back of the card for the dedication.

I used an antique blue for this baby boy and put the initial of his name on the front to make the card more personalized. A piece f lace and a feather wing that symbolizes the little angel. I used some gauze that remindes me of the cloth diappers for the newborns and a diapper clip - just necessary for a baby card.

Here's my take on the last palette of The Color room. There's been a lot of time from the last one. I felt inspired by the blue palette and by the photo of my little treasure. A lot of Prima things in this LO and some home printing... Wires for dimension. I cut the leaves and covered them with the Rock candy crackle paint. I love when a boy LO still keeps some tenderness.

Every day I really enjoy when we are all three together,...ehm...four if I count our chihuahua as she is a full member of our family. In fact everything seems better, easier and more beatuful when our family is together. A perfect way to spend and invest my life!

Pastel hangers

8th march is a day, a normal day that gives us the opportunity to show that we care about those persons that are part of our lifes, that complete it and that help us to make it more simple and intresting at the same time. Every single occassion is good in my oppinion to show our appriciation and it's even nicer if the little gift is handmade.
I decided to use some pastel colors for the hangers to give some extra power to the upcoming spring. The initials are covered with glitter to remind us that every woman has a specific shiny lie that gives warmness to people that encircle her and a soft bow as soft as a woman's heart is.

Birthday globe

I love making something different than a card for birthdays. I'm always thinking about something new and something durable at the same time and something that can be a nice home decor.

This project was make for a little girl for her 2nd birthday. A birthday globe. A little girly cupcake preserved in a ball on a base. I covered half of the globe with some book pages to create a safe haven. I used some hay at the bottom to give to the little cupcake a nice and tender support. The cupcake is made just with pattern paper, some styrofoam, a lot of flowers on the top and a little candle (that is not a candle but a polymer clay stick and a piece of thin line glued on the top). A tiny baby shoe completes the small bow. I love the different old pink shades playing in this projects. Here are some details...

I want also to remind you that on TAAFOMFT is going on a nice themed challenge: FAVORITE FEATURE and I find this one particulary versatile because you can scrap a lot of things and it can be a layout, a card, an altered item, a mini... whatever you want to create as long as it has to do with your FAVE FEATURE!! Fave magazine

Join us on TAAFOMFT and tell us which is your fave mag!!!! I have to say I was a little bit confused what to do this time because I mostly read on the net and I don't buy magazines frequently. When I was still living with my mom I was a little bit spoiled as she always has somekind of magazine to read and I have to admit I always took advantage from it :-)
If there are magazines that I can't help not browsing are the house decor magazines and if I find them somewhere (of course, mostly at my mom's place). I just enjoy watching new ideas and different styles and so.... the TAG is all dedicated to them :-)

Altered carriage/recycled lampshade

You give me the possibility to paint the rainbow on grey skies. You always have the ticket for the Wonderland. You show me the beauty of the colors and the simplicity of being a human being. You created me and gave me the opportunity to grow and look out of the window for fresh air. You showed me your different faces and surprised me with brilliant changes. You gave me the opportunity to see that the world was different, better. We shared smiles and tears and tried to get the best out of it. Thank you for being special. Happy birthday mom!

I used an old lampshade to make this carriage and added a part of a broken canle holder on the top. For the wheels I went out in our garden and picked some vinesand slowly gave them a rounded shape. The styrofoam heart is covered with acrilyc paint, mod podge and moulding compound. I added an explosion of grungeboard little hearts, Prima flowers and Tattered angels glimmer chips. The quote is printed on the ribbon.

Here's another Valentine's project, something you can use to surprise the one you love: two hearts enjoying their love nest. It can represent you and the one you love, your house, your feelings. IN this sense you can use it as a gift for Valentine's day or simply to decor your home and give to it some extra atmosphere.

What are your plans for Valentine's day? I hope you have some enjoyable hours with the one(s) you love, to surprise and be surprised... But I have also something else important happening tomorrow: my mom's birthday and so I have to get going and finish something special for her that I'll post obviously tomorrow to preserve the surprise!

Romantic candle holder

Are you planing to have a nice Valentine's dinner with your special person? If the answer is yes there is a simple idea that'll help you to decorate the table. I'm pretty sure that in every house there are some old glasses, maybe a last unbroken example that you are keeping? You can decorate it and using it like a candle holder just putting it upside down.

I used a SRM sticker to add also a special message and as they are transparent the effect is like it's written on the glass.

This is just a quick idea. I'm coming with new projects in the next days... Paper dreams to all!

Wire heart

I feel inspired to make some love themed projects as Valentine's day is just arround the corner. This time I played with some wire and I made a wire heart. In fact I have to say that the pictures doesn't capture 100% how this heart looks in RL. For making this bubbly heart I used a balloon and simply wrapped it with wire and fixed them also using the palstic ties. Than I popped it and sprayed it with some gold spray to cover the undesired plastic effect of the ties. I also made a hole on the front that allows to see the word "LOVE".
The decoration on the back of the heart is made with Prima flowers and Prima pearls but not very visible in the photos. The alphas are completly covered with glitter and for the arrow I used just a simple dried branch.

Big news and fave game!!!

There are some big news over These are a few of my favorite things. You probably know that there was a DT CALL to find other talents that will enhance the challenges. And I have to announce that now we are in 24!!!! I'm so excited to see a lot of variety, new ideas, different styles and I'm sure there'll be a waterfall of inspiration!!!!!
And we are going on with the challenges and here is the next one: FAVORITE GAME! I was thinking a lot which game to choose and than I decided for the most important one: LIFE! Life is surely the most important game we play and sometimes we are lose and sometimes we are win but the important thing is to follow our dreams and be prepared to go on. In this LO there are some things that keep reminding the rules: the two indicators for the limit of time we have, the big sign that reminds us in what way the game goes, the heart that determinates the direction and the duration and the wings and the devil's horns to accept that we are only humans.

So, play your most important game than better that you can and meanwhile don't forget to play also at the TAAFOMFT!!!!!!!

Family tree

Here is my new project. I decided to make a family tree and it's a perfect idea for a baby gift. The trees are made in two colors: a pink for a girl and a blue for a boy.
The base of the tree is made from paper mache and I used some artificial cotton and painted it with green acrilyc color to make the puffy clouds for the crown of the tree. There are of course distressed paper frames for the names to be put on. The trees are completed with Prima flowers and a ribbon arround the trunk and a few pearls.

There is still some space left on the trees to add more names. I hope you like it and ... Paper dreams to all!

Birthday cake #2

Another birthday another chance to make a birthday cake. This time a little bit more of pink and a wide ribbon that has almost a wafel pattern and it's just perfect for this project. Other things are just preety much like on the first one. This time I also added the name with 3 dimentional color to make it like on real cakes.

Also this time I used a toy lamp to reproduce it in moulding compound and of course I kept the "make a wish" inscription.

I mailed the cake yesterday and I hope it will bring a smile on the face of this special birthday girl !!!! Happy birthday Polona!!!!

Favorite quote

This time was really a challenging work on the TAAFOMFT! In fact we had to choose our favorite quote!!!! I have to say I have an enormous ammount of quotes that I love but I wanted to make something different from a LO this time and the one I choose seemed just perfect for this heart shaped project.
I did the heart my self and covered it with gauze and lace. I've adoperated some glimmer mmist to reach the worn red color and I have to say that in RL the heart has a significant shimmer wich gives it a prescious look. The wires are placed like a sort of stitches and of course a lock, indispensable to protect our hearts.

In the heart the lace background gives the right conditions for the little seed to sprout and the soft flowers are its protection. The key is placed with a bow and it's waitting for the perfect situation to be donated to unlock the heart :-)

Birthday cake

As I promised I'm making this post about a birthday project and here we are: a scrapbook birthday cake. I made it for my super friend Katja and I was even more happy for her because she told me that this year she had other desserts but not a cake for birthday and this made the scrapbook cake even more appropriate, don't you think!?

This birthday madame is "filled" with puffy pom poms and satin ribon and has a glittery glaze on the top and instead of sugar roses there are obviously some Prima flowers.

If you are not new on my blog you'll certantly know that I love my projects to hide some kind of internal surprise. I just love surprises and I love making them even more! I self made a tiny Alladin lamp that will make her wishes come true.

I already know there will be other occassions to make similar presents and I have to say I enjoyed making it!

The best thing....

A new LO and this time I decided to make the layers more profoud and I've put some cardboard in between them. Here is not very visible but I love the effect of the elements popping out. It's to the darker ones and the vines make the page softer.

It's nice to make some new LOs after a lot of time spending on other projects but tomorow I'm coming back with another non-LO project suitable for birthday gifts, so, don't forget to come back tomorrow!!!!!

Altered ornaments and more...

It was still autumn when I saw two flatted ball ornaments at IKEA just for 50 cents. They were red with just a few white spots and perfect to richly decorate them and use them as a kind of a christmas treats for unexpected guests. I grabbed many packeges and some days ago I dressed them as I wanted: white cracle paint, glittery swirls, satin bows, warm wishes and a pinch of distressing. So simple but I have to say they fully perform their mission and bring smiles on the people faces.

I wanted to share another thing: a few days ago girls from a challenge blog named CRAFTY PANTKY contacted me, asking me if I wanted to take part to their alternative Christmas tree challenge, with my Christmas trees as a inspiration for the contestants. I have to say I always have fun with cooperating and I was immidiatly in. So, if you have a different christmas tree, you can participate to the challenge or in alternative, you can visit their blog for some inspo and there's a lot in there. Thank you so much Crafty pantky girls, I'll be arround and have a merry merry Christmas!!!!!

Santa's surprise hat

Do you remember the surprise witch hat? How could I've missed to make a Santa's hat with the same purpose??? The difference is that this time the hat is covered with red fabric. I also made some distressing touches to it with acrilyc paint. Some extra embellishments give to it a more festive note but it remains traditional at the same time.

The surprise is a Christmas tree made from paper lucky stars that I made from music paper. A reindeer is flying around it, announcing, that someone special is coming to town (I hope you've been good). Some sparkles of glitter and shiny stars are necessary in this time of the year, aren't they?

Egg carton tree tutorial

Do you want a really simple idea to make a tiny Christmas tree (another????? :-)). Here you are: a tree made out of the egg carton container: simple, fast, coreographic!

Step 1: Take an egg carton and cut the center like showing in the photo.

Step 2: Cut the four cones and keep also the ends of it.

Step 3: Cut the ends in half to get four additional pieces.

Step 4: Position the cones one on the other with a light pressure. If you want you can add a bit of glue to make it more firm.

Step 5: Cut the four remaining pieces into a triangle.

Step 6: Apply them at the bottom of the tree with some glue.

...Voila! Your tiny tree is done. Proceed with decorating!

Custom Christmas ball

Do you remember my surprise Christmas Ball? Well, a person send me an e-mail telling me that she immidiatly fell in love with it after seeing it and if I can make another one for her. I said that it was possible and if she can tell me something about her, just to make the second one a little bit different and more personalized. She said to include a little plane and that was enough for inspiring me! In fact this one is similar to the first one but different at the same time. The part I love the most is actually this little airplane flying arround the tiny tree....

I'll be back soon as I have 3 projects on my table to finish, of course, Christmas themed :-)

Christamas mail box

I already saw these wonderful mail boxes to adorn. In fact you can buy them but I was too anxious to start and I just make it on my own out of chipboard. I thik they are simply irresistable and you can myke them as perfect Christmas gifts. Who wouldn't be happy to receve on e of these?

The funny thing of this one is that I wanted to cover the vine branches with snow and I just took some white acrilyc and mixed in some UTEE and when dry it looks just like snow. Of course the addition of some blinks makes it more prescious and I see it like sun that is shining on cristal white snow.

I decided to hang some christmas balls on the branches and I used grungeboard because is rigid and resistant in time.

It's logical that a mail box can't be empty. I'm always excited when I find something in it (of cvourse not bills :-)). I created a mini using old envelopes.

Also for this mini I used a ribbon banner that I already talked about and as I said here is a tutorial how to do it. It's soooooo simple but has a great effect in my oppinion.

You'll need:

-large ribbon

-a stripe of cardstock

-glue stick

-scissors

Step 1: Apply the glue on the cardstock.

Step2: Apply the cardstock on the ribbon.

Step 3: Cut out the extremes of the banner.

Step 4: Now you can give your ribbon the shape you want.

Lace Christmas trees ...again

Hi everybody. I was busy again with cutting the curtaain :-) and there are two new lace trees. The only difference is that this time I sprayed them with glimmer mist to make them green because my mom loves green christamas trees and these two are going strainght to her home. I added two paper stripes with her favorite christmas songs: White Christmas abd Let it snow. Of course, glitter and blinks in abundance!!!! I tried to put some red on them but it just didn't fit somehow... so, they are more like forest christmas trees. Maybe I'll find something red to put on them...

Lace Christmas tree and fave celebrity

I'm just continuing with the Christmas spirit and I love this time of the year because with the Christmas theme the ideas are just coming and coming - just so easy!
I have a lace curtain that I have to admit I would never use, just because it doesn't match my style and it also has some unremovable spots so...I cut it into some stripes and made this Chrismas tree. In the pics below it's not visible but I sprayed the whole tree with glue and put a lot of glitter on it and in RL it's very shiny and sparkly. In addition I've put on many blinks. My mom gave me a super chic chrystal star and I have to say that it gives to the tree a special touch. The tree has also some puffy pon pons that hold the dotted veil that dresses the tree and some glossy red eye-catching alphas.

I'll make a tutorial in the next days about how to make this banner out of a ribbon and I promise you that it's super easy and I love the sophisticated effect it gives to the project.

Jingle bells wreath

I love tandem projects and this is one of them. I love when two people join the ideas. It' a sort of relay.
My mom made a croched wreath and she said that I have to finish it. It is nice when you have a handmade product and you feel the authenticity and the uniqueness of it and playing with these sort of things is certantly more noble.
As I said the base is a croched wreath. I started with giving a few brushes of a light green acrylic paint and sprinkled it with glitter. The idea was to give it an iced-look. I added some green iced stamens with the glue gun to make it more dimensional. A pinch of flowers and a glitter snowflake make it more festive and a verse of a Christmas song is a final touch for some indispensable warmness...

The bell is protected and placed in a half ball covered with patterned paper...

What do you want for Christmas? I love all the christmasy gifts traffic and enjoy wrapping them in new and particular ways. Thinking about this year wrapping I had this idea to make an explosion gift and this could be a great way to say "I love you". I started with a quite simple outside part...

...to countinue with untieing the bow you reach the heart of the gift that is very special to me - my boys.

Christmas ball

Hi friends. I'm writting from my mothers computer to write this post because I have some problems with the internet connection. I hope I'll solve it soon because I admit I hardy live without this web addiction.
Meanwhile I've made a Christmas ball, inspired by my globe No place like home. I opted for the traditionl christmas colors: white, red and green and a lot of glitter. I covered a plastic ball with gauze and acrylic color and the final effect was like having a canvas ball. I made glitter swirls on the ball using the Tim Holtz template.
A tag says: Never wory about the size of your Christmas tree....

Of course, as this ball is inspired by the No place like home globe, it has a surprise inside: a small christmas tree. I like it because the look is simple (not many colors) but prescious. And the message continues: In the eyes of children, they are all 30 feel tall. A glittery hill carries this tiny tree. Stripes of patterned paper to cover the background and a croched sowflake (that my mom made) for the bed to the glittery one.

I hope I'll soon have my connection problems solved...I miss all of you!!!!!

We have a special thing going on on These are a few of my favorite things and I hope you'll join us this time.
Within in this past month, Julie have found out that Stephanie's (the owner of Bella Blvd.) Brother-in-Law was killed in an accident and Dolores's (her bloggy friend) best friend is fighting breast cancer on a very limited income being a teacher....and BOTH ladies (Dolores and Stephanie) have asked for Thank You cards to be sent to them to have on hand for the many, many, many people that are assisting them in their time of need.
We decided to help them and make it a challenge to all of you to help out too.... Our challenge is: make a THANK YOU Card using FAVE FALL COLORS and send it to one or both of them.
Here is mine....

Altered toy drum

First of all I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone that visits my blog and a special one to everybody who spends time to leave me a comment. You are special to me and give me more and more energy to continue to search in this beatiful paper world!
This time was the time for a broken drum toy to be altered, to be given a new life. Kian was once imitating dad and playing hardly on the drum and suddenly he made a huge hole in it.
I started to undress the drum of its previous skin and re-built it completely.
The front skin is in acetate and it closes the tree and the tiny treasures at the bottom of it inside and together with the heart inside it says: It is the Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air.

I've put new sort of eyelets to hold the string on the ouside.

I've made a christmas tree using some stripes of paper thet I've rolled at the end, added some glitter and of course some holly fruits, because it can't be Christmas without red. I used some translicent paper for the back so when I put the drum in front of a light is like a little lamp and a soft light passes through it.

The heart is in grungeboard, paited and distressed.

A teddy bear and the ribbon to complete the Christmas atmosphere.

Having a drummer for husband I think a decoration like this one was inevitable :-)

Winter memories card

This time I'm posting about a card that it's a bit unusual for me, I'm not really a card maker (but I have to start to make my christmas cards and I'm already late!!!!) but maybe bacause here is raining a lot and after we decorated the house with christmas decorations the only thing that is missing is ..... snow! And so here it is, with a little bit different snowman made using the Tattered angels frames of different sizes.

And now... let's pray for snow!

Christmas paper tree tutorial

Thank you for the enthusiasm you showed for this Paper trees. I'm happy you liked them and I hope this tutorial will help you to make this beatiful christmas decorations. I found the idea on this video but it's a little bit different. I decided to add some steps and to make this project in my way, just like I wanted.

You will need:
-paper circles of 10 different sizes, approximately about 250 pieces
- wire
- wavy cardboard circle of the same size of the biggest paper circle.
- wooden stick
- glitter powder
-small glitter stars
- glitter gloss
- paper rose
- glue spray
- fake holly fruits
- embellishments (to hang and glue on the bottom of the tree)
- white acrylic paint
- hot glue
- scissors
- wire pliers
- brush

Step 1: make a hole with the stick into the wavy cardboard.
Step 2 : Put the stick in place to make it stay firm. I usually use a huge crepe tape because it's just perfect for this kind of things.
Step 3: This is very important step. Crush each circle before you put it on the stick. This will give to your tree a nice airy and distressed look.
Step 4: Pin the paper circle approximately in the centre and don't be concerned if it's not right in the middle. In fact this will make even more intresting. Continue with the others and don't forget to crush them. This operation will take you some time but the result is worth doing it. Leave approximately 1 cm of the stick looking out of the paper circles.

Step 5: When you put on the stick all the paper circles put some hot glue in the wavy cardboard where you made a hole previously and place the bottom of the stick of your paper tree on the cardboard. Hold the tree till the glue is completely hard and the tree is standing well balanced.
Step 6: Add more glue to the layer between the cardboard and the first paper circle to make it completely stable.
Step 7: Spray the paper tree with the glue spray. This step depends on your taste of how much glitter do you want on your tree. I like it a lot so I spray generously.
Step 8: Pour the glitter on the paper tree. Shake well to allow the excess of glitter to go down.

Step 9: Spray the tree again, this time just a few quick and light sprays and put on the little glitter stars.
Step 10: At this point a lot of stars will stick on the tree but I find that too many of them give to the tree an artificial look and my advice is to brush part of them down with a clean and soft brush but also this step depends on your personal taste.
Step11: Paint the bottom cardboard with white acrylic paint. Apply some glitter on the wet paint if desired.
Step 12: With the glue gun stick the end of the wire (1m long) somewhere between the biggest paper circles at the bottom of the tree and wrap it around the tree till reaching the top.

Step 13: Twist the end of the wire around the top of the stick.
Step 14: Spray just a little bit the red holly fruits with the glue and put them into the glitter. I don't like them fully covered but just partially because I find that they look better on the tree if not totally covered with glitter.
Step15: Apply the fruits on the tree using the hot glue.
Step 16: Take the rose and place it on the top of the tree.

Step 17: Make a bow under the rose using the desired ribbon.
Step18: Take another piece of wire and twist it around a pencil and pull it down. Now you pull the ends and there you have the twisted wire.
Step 19: Put one end of the wire into the middle of the rose.
Step 20: Apply the glitter gloss on the top.

Now you can decorate the tree like you desire.

Christmas checklist

There is a lot of things to do before Christmas. I love to do everything: the baking, the decorating , the cooking,... but I hate to hurry. I decided to make a Christmas checklist and I think this one can be a nice idea for a christmas gift too. It's a self standing mini-checklist and this is perfect as you can position everywhere in the house and besides giving you a small help is also a nice Christmas decoration.

The first two pages have also this time a special ornament that my mom made: a croched snowflake.... The white one is enhanced with glitter, the gold one with some blinks.

The grungeboard reindeer has a glitter embossing, not very visible here :-(

Each page has a pocket on the back that can be filled with the best tips for wrapping, special recipes, ideas fr gifts,... I think they'll get pretty full just in a few years!

As many of you were intrested in the paper trees tutorial I just wanted to remind you to come to my blog tomorow when I'll post it and I hope you'll enjoy it and you'll immidiatly make yourself or to the one you love wonderful paper christmas trees!

Paper christmas trees

Halloween is over and now we can focus on Christmas. I think the beauty of it is especially in waiting Christmas to come. The Christmas day per se is something wonderful but I most enjoy the advent: the baking, the searching, the wrapping, the listening, the talking.....

I made two paper christmas trees. I've put a lot of glitter on it and tiny shiny stars to make them dreamy and prescoius and sprinkled them with the holly plant fruits for some warmness. On the bottom of each I've arranged a christmasy touch. On the top there is an iced rose instead of a star and an enhanced snowflake hanging from it. A small bow for make the rose softer.

On for me, one for you....mom!

Weightlifting

At the These are a few of my favorite things it's time for another great challenge: favorite sport!!!!! Do you have your favorite sport, passion, necessity in this sense?

My husband and I were never really sport persons as he is a drummer and spends the free time in a dusty place playing drums and I on the other hand am totally obsessed with scrapbooking and I'm really faithful to this passion but I have to say we like to make long walks in the nature almost every day after my husband comes home.
But there is a type of sport we are practicing from the moment Kian was born: weightlifting. In fact we always had to keep him in our hannds because when he was a baby he hated every other place except being in our arms..... Sometimes we were just near to get crazy :-)
...and he still loves it...

I just want to remind you that nowon the TAAFOMFT we are choosing the winner randomly so everybody has a chance to win. No stress, just having fun.

Letters for Santa

Kian writes approximatley 3-4 letters for Santa per day!!!! Last year I tried to explain him (like I already said) that you have to think about what you want and than send just one single letter but this year, when he showed he would keep the last year tradition I decided to give up and to enjoy his point of view. In fact there's even more: I made an altered box where I can store all his letters (past, present and future). My son also decided that he will not send his letters by mail but that he will leave it somewhere in the house and scream where he put it so the elfs can hear him and take them directly to Santa without intermediates....

I cut the front part of the box to make a letter-looking front ...

A croched snowflakes that are just irresistable. My mom is a master of knitting and she will contribute to make my Christmas projects unique and enhanced with her prescious pieces of art. Thank you soooooo much mom for this goodies, gifts!!!!!!! I love them!

On each side of the box there is an envelope. Two of them are just fake but this one has a tag inside. I plan to write a note on it when he'll receive this box full of his letters to Santa as a grown up. I think that receving all your letters after many years can be a nice surprise. This is a long term gift and that makes it even more exciting, don't you think?

The countdown has begun..... I'll have a lot of christmas projects to share this year, ideas just invaded my mind:-)

Sharing

Sharing is one of the needs humans have. You can see it in children when they call mom or dad to share if something is happening, you can see it when something beatiful tauches our lifes and it can't be as beatiful as it is when shared. It's another strange feature of humans. I can see how sharing is something that is innate in Kian and he always wants to be sure that we are experiencing the same thing and afterwords he enjoys to describe it.
This LO is inspired by The Color room palette. A very feminine selection of colors but it goes ok with this cute pic showing Kian sharing his lollypop with daddy.

Some close ups....

The title is made using a glitter color. I first used the indigo paper to make a sort of a transfer of the word and that I covered it with glitter and made some stitching for an extra detail. I made the white bricks using the polyclay.

The frame is made with some tarsparent pink paper that I first push below the paper frame and sewed and than rolled over itself and sewed again to form a kind of a airy effect.

Playground passion

A new LO and this time I decided to use some textile background. It's about Kian and his passion for any kind of playground and in fact most of our afternoons are spent watching him having fun in this children areas.

I made some cutting to get the flowers and made some stamping. I decided to use the colors in the photo to make this page.

Witch's hat

A new palette of The Color room and this time the colors are perfect for another halloween project, just with a small difference: yellow instead orange.
This is my take on this palette: a chipboard witch's hat.... I love the smashed chipboard for the upper part because that's what a true witch needs. I did some clear embossing on it and some white stamping before I rolled it and a lot of misting for an extra shiny look (not very visible :-( in the pics ).

Some wired shapes... The two stars are looking out of the top checking for some good spells :-)

But there's more: the hat has a surprise: a hidden treasure in it and it could be anything you want to put under it for halloween.... It's so nice to find and offer surprise, don't you think?

Clear embossed stars with blinks. I love how they seem to dance all over the hat surface...

A lovely challenge at the TAAFOMFT: fave animal. Everyone has one! I love to have pets in my house. I think they give a prescious contribute into our lifes. I can't think my life without it or I can better say without them because there are always a lot of pets in my house. I choose to make a tag about my cats (yes, I could chooose Chili, my chihuahua, but she is not a pet anymore, she is a human in fur). Right now we have three cats (Menta, Cookie and Muffin) because you know what they say: cats are like cookies - you can't just have one! I've always had cats and I adore these animals: their elegant walk, their headstrong character and their dreamy purr.... Her majesty the cat!

My sweetheart

Kian is crazy for lollies. He loves this little award for being a good boy and allthough he doesn't love girly things he makes an exception for the heart shaped lolly. The title was inevitable and it goes right for him and for me....
I used a very soft misting at the back with the graphite Glimmer mist. The heart is made out of the Tattered angels frames. The colors are suggested by The color room with the current palette.

Halloween haunted houses

We already had a spooky house and my little boy was so excited that we decided to make another one and than another one and than.... We were unstopable and we enjoyed making every kind of houses.
Here is the whitches haunted castle with missing withches :-)))))

This one is acctually pretty simple to do: we just put together some boxes and than colored it with black acrylic color and finally with wood and tile shaped poly clay that I previously baked. And I have to say it's irresistible. The only thing that is missing like I said are some small witches and other little ..... Kian and me are looking in every shop to find something suitable but we can't find any, but we are not giving up!!!!

The next one is actually an altered bird house but still covered with poly clay. The pumpkins and the green hands are from poly as well. The clock is stamped. On the door there is a stamped and embossed skull.

We made also a gingerbread haunted house and Kian is waiting for the 31th to eat it!!!

The decorations inside are ready...

....now I have to wait to get the pumpkins to finish decorating the entrance.

What is your favorite fictional character?

We have a great fave thing to scrap at the TAAFOMFT: favorite fictional character. Noooo doubts for me here: The polar expres crew: I simply adore this animation and I love the story, all the time immerged in magic but still just a pinch scary, just enough to drive children's (and I'm one of them :-)) immagination and feelings deep in this fantastic jouney!!! I think I've watched it thousands of times and that music and story still surprise me everytime I enjoy it! The pocket watch was the perfect background, always showing something to midnight....

And we are changing things up a bit around FAVE THINGS!!! We are now going to choose our winner by using Random.org so everyoneb that plays along have a chance to win and we will now be showing all the lo's/projects on a slideshow when we announce the winner! Isn't this great!

Altered halloween boxes

I have to admit that this year I feel a huge inpiration for halloween stuff (you already noticed that, huh?). Yesterday I altered this three containers and they will join the other halloween decor.

I bought once some medication in this tiny bottle and I loved the shape of it so I've kept it and it finally got the right alternation....

The next one is an altered chipboard metal box. I've colored the front with distress crackle paint. Usually I play with purple, orange and brown for halloween but this year my creations have to contain even a bit of green because I think they get a lot more of dimension. In this case I used green ribbon. The Tattered angels corners are neccesary for a lielle bit of shabby chic look.

I actually recycled and I used part of the packaging of the Tattered angels Glimmer glass album to make the front tag. I used an orange wooden piece for the little pumpkin, I draw a face on it and glued some super tiny leaves and stalk.

The next one is a simple black chipboard box. The main idea of it is the tattered angels Frame which is used as a pumpkin - I looove it!!!

Now I have to find some pumpkins to carve... I enjoy making original ones and the whole family just can't see the time to make them!

Halloween wreath

I felt inspired to make some halloween colored paper roses and I made them a lot and so I decided to incorporate them in a paper halloween wreath. I made two types of paper flowers. the The first one is the Tim Holtz paper flower but I decided to use different patterned papers in one flower. The choice was good because in the end I had plenty of different halloween roses with the right mood: not too serious but still a little bit elegant. The second paper flower I decided to make is from the recipe I found on the internet. They are soooo easy to do and have a greatb impact! i added some glittery leaves and some glossy black elements...

Do you have a fave poem? The current challege on the TAAFOMFT is really something special. Yes, I know this is a difficult decision to make because there so much different aspects to consider and for me poetry preferences are mostly related to my State of mind and heart. But I have a favorite one. My mom used to read to me this poem again and again and we still read it together, loudly. And every time we get the tears in our eyes. I just love it!! It's Be The Best of Whatever You Are by Douglas Malloch.

For this occasion I created a mega tag and you can understand that was a perfect gift for my mom, just to let her know again how much I love her.

And here is the text:

I have to admit that I'm already expecting halloween. I love this harvest time and I love the start of the decoration time. From halloween to spring there is always something to celebrate and always a way to enhance the joy of living with deliscious food, marvelous decorations and festive atmosphere. It's seems to me that in this way is just easier to say goodbye to summer and to make the pause to the next one a great time...

Canvas Love Letters mini

So today is the 4th of September abd thet means that I have to choose the two future tag owners. The reason why I decided to reveal them today is because today is Matej's and mine anniversary: 14 years together!!!!!OMG, this time just flows so quickly and it seems yesterday we started our story. But I'm grateful because the time that passes gives me the opportunity to know my special person better and better and to try to create a tiny special universe.
Of course the gift for the anniversary have to be special (acctually we started on the 4th of September and after 14 years we still celebrate every 4th of the month with a tiny gift - an attention that matters) and it was just a perfect occassion for the LOVE LETTERS MINI.
I made special canvas envelopes and each one contains a special letter: past, present, future and the thank you letter.

I made some dew on this envelope with the glue gun and it seems like real!

I acctually put the envelope in my old typewritter and typed some love quotes that I like the most....

Every envelope has a special note when you open it.....

..and a special card that treasures the message....

Yesterday I was thinking what to make for two girls, acctually twins - Maša and Urša - you know, just to pamper them a little as they showed appriciation for my paper world and I wanted them to have something to remeber when they'll return to Ljubljana. So I came with the idea to make tags and I was immidiatly in!
I decided that the theme will be love because they are "already" 9!!! And here they are: different but with the same spirit.

And you know what? I was thinking about all of you that visit my blog and leave such sweet comments that mean so much to me and I couldn't resist not making another two for you!!!! I was thinking about my blog as a living creature and the truth is that it lives just because of you, that dropp in and feed it with love. I have to say thank you and I'll keep saying it forever. Hat down.

You are irresistible

20th palette on The color room and you know what? I did them all. Yes, a lot of inspiration in there and a lot of colors that I wouzld never use and this makes it even more fun - to find a combo of colors and the layering that makes you happy with the page.
Here is another palette that I would never make but I'm happy that I reached the final result that reflects my style: Purple grape, Dusty Green, Bright Blue, Really Lavender. Well the color in the picture are not like they are in the page. There is a higher impact of the lavander color.

The pic was taken in the occassion of the last day of kindy and there was a little party and Kian is wearing elephant ears because he was part of the elephant group and I find him particulary irresistible in this photo. I made a lot of misting and masking in this page and I love how the two techniques goes perfectly together, one on the other.

I paited the lace with regular acrilyc paint...

Favorite day of the week

Do you have a favorite day of the week? This is the current challenge on the TAAFOMFT. I do have a favorite one and mine is Saturday and the reason is preety obvious but I can't help feeling the great moment of all the family weaking up together, having breafast togeher and making plans what to do to make good use of the prescious time together. I still don't feel the presure of the upcoming new week and the related schedule. I can say I have another day left till the restart and feel relaxed!!!

The funny thing is that for me only some days of the week have their own feel. Do you remember a funny dialogue between Kramer and Newman (Seinfeld) when they were talking about days of the week? Here you have it:

Jerry, Kramer and Newman in the Saab*
Kramer: What's today?
Newman: It's Thursday.
Kramer: Really? Feels like Tuesday.
Newman: Tuesday has no feel. Monday has a feel, Friday has a feel, Sunday has a feel....
Kramer: I feel Tuesday and Wednesday...

Just in this case :-) Newman is right for me: some days definetly have a feel and other don't.

Kian is 4!!!!

Yesterday was a big day because Kian tuned four!!!!! An important day with a great pirate party. The kids were enjoying the theme and parents could have a long chat because they were so into the pirates games. We made a cartboard ship and I painted it and put it in the garden with a pirate flag some garden net (for peas) for the boat net and Matej made the ship rudder out of an old bike wheel and thanks to the good weather the kids enjoyed it!!! We also had a treasure hunt and the kids found out a treasure chest filled with pirates coins, pirate chocolates and each young pireate fount in it a skull mini album that has to be completed with their names, photos and little pirate's special features and with the pirates rules - I'll probably make a post about it in the next days! Of course I had to make a pirate boat shaped cake too!
Kian was so happy and just had so much fun and I had so much fun watching him enjoying his bday party!!!
